The Gold rush had a huge environmental impact on the Earth. There were rivers of trash. A lot of environment like rivers were polluted by miners that threw the trash they use into the rivers. They also use hydraulic mining to find gold, but hydraulic mining will erode a lot of hills and mountains. Another problem with Hydraulic mining is that if there is a lot of rocks on the hill the rocks might shoot off the hill giving people injuries or potential death. If there is a lot of snow on the mountain the snow might melt creating a small flood that could knock out a whole tent city. Also coyote mining can be dangerous to the environment because a lot of land can fall in the hill. The environment was a dirty place in the Gold Rush.
