The Gold Rush was good and bad for California. It was good for California because many miners came to the California Gold Rush, and the population increased by thousands, so California became a state. When miners were here people got diseases, when there was too much pollution, it was bad for California because lots of people get diseases. One of the diseases was cholera. The cholera epidemic was bad and good. It was bad because cholora is a deadly disease that can kill people and the gold miners did not have a cure for cholora so, many people died and fled from Sacramento. It was good for Sacramento because people didn’t want to get cholera so the gold miners didn’t do any damage mining.
